KPA HISTORY
The KPA started in 1994 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Michael Stinnett had a vision that Kentucky needed a summer event, that would help develop and challenge the better players in the area. The KPA started with 7 teams the first year, and each year has grown to include teams and players from all over the world. NBA and overseas pros from all over the world have played in the KPA. The KPA has also become an event that professional scouts take very seriously in regards to their scouting. Several players over the years have received professional contracts based on their play in the KPA. The summer of 2015 will mark the 19th year for the event, and will include a summer league (June 9 - June 23), a tournament in Owensboro (June 25-28), and an NBA Sanctioned All Star Event July 27 and July 29.
